Moonstar 88
Moonstar88 was formed in 1999. Two of its members, Acel Bisa and Paolo Bernaldo were with the band Orphan Lily in the mid-1990s. They signed to Alpha Records sometime around 2000, and to Sony BMG by 2007. The name of the band was chosen after they had landed a gig, but did not have a name for their band. They wrote down a list of names and when they were about to perform, they choose Moonstar. They added the number 88 since Moonstar was the 88th name on their list.
